1. What was your favorite vacation location and how did you heard about it?
My favorite vacation location is Bergen,Sweden ,the second city as size of Sweden. I heard of this location at college ,one day when two Swedish men came at our section and told us, the students, that we can apply for a scholarship in Bergen, for three months as a school summer. We all were excited but also a little disappointed because it was only one place and that meant that we must study very hard to win the scholarship.
2. Did you travel alone or with your family/friends (how many) ?
I traveled alone, because it was only one scholarship for almost every country in Europe and there we were a group of 35 students. I think I was the luckiest one because I won it and sincerely I earned it,I learned a lot and it was my first time when I went to other country.
3. How much time did you spend finding out information about this location and what resources did you use to do it (online sites/traveling agencies/friends).
Between learning for scholarship and of course for the exams at college, I gathered some informations that helped me a lot there. My teachers were a lot of help to ,they gave me important advices so I managed just fine and afterwards I searched for extra informations and guiding from the online sites.
4. Can you tell us the thing you like most in this place?
I liked everything there, it was so interesting to see other places, other culture and most of all other people with different mentality from us and all in a single city.
5. What were the bad/ugly sides of your vacation?
I think that the bad side of this vacation was definitely the weather, it was cold for me. Maybe because I am used with the good and warm weather from Romania, for example in my country in the summer is hot and in the winter is cold, but in Sweden is cold in every season of the year.
6. How was your room (did you had everything you need).
My room was very nice and comfortable , we stayed in a student hostel and I shared my room with 2 girls, one from Hungary and one from Greece, and we had bound each other very fast. We also had a T.V. and we had our own bathroom and kitchen. So it was very good, because not every student’s hostels give to the students these good conditions. We also had access to the internet, but for that we had to go to the library and the good part it was that the library wasn’t so far away from our room, only 2 floors higher.
7. Did you take a digital camera (what model), a laptop or any other gadgets with you? (name of the gadget).
In this vacation I took my digital camera ,my Sony DSC-PC 1 and my father gave to me his laptop a Sony Vaio PC-Z1,which was very useful for me at classes and at the library when I connected my laptop to speak with my family and friends from home. And I also took my Ipod,it’s the only thing that I always take when I leave from home.
8. How were the people there (the reception and people you meet)
The Swedish people are very warm, nice and very understanding. At college I study Norwegian and this resembles with Swedish in some cases and they were very understanding with me because when we talked with them in Norwegian ,they understood what we were saying and they answered back in that way so we could understand what they were trying to tell us. I think that this thing shows their warm and understanding in connection with the tourists.
9. Did you make any new friends (are you still keeping in touch).
Yes, I made friends ,first of all, are my roommates, the girl from Hungary and the one from Greece and there is also a Swedish boy, whom I met there and he was so gentile with us and he was practically our guide, because he took us everywhere we wanted to go. I keep in touch with them, we speak daily on the internet and we are planning a vacation where all of us should meet.
10. How did you spend your time? Did you participate in any recreational activities?
In the morning I went to college for the classes and in the afternoon and at night we stayed our room reading or watching T.V. or in other cases when the weather was good we in town visiting.
11. What places did you visited? (Museums, resorts, sport facilities)
We visited a lot of places like the Historical Museum, the Gamla Stan, the Skansen, the Vasamuseet, the Storkyrkan, Tranlottet Bellevue, Globen , the Bergianske tradgarden, the Filadelfiakyrka and a lot more.
12. What other vacation location would you recommend to the public?
I recommend to the public to visit this beautiful city but I also recommend our country,we have a lot to offer and we are well known for our warmth and beautiful views and of course the Dracula’s castle at Bran.
