1. What was your favorite vacation location and how did you heard about it?
I think that my favorite vacation location is Great Falls in Montana.I was here when I was 10.My parents choose a farm,a ranch, from here and we spend our summer like cowboys. My dad’s dream was to live like a cowboy ,he liked a lot John Wayne’s movies. We live in Chicago,so the first condition to be a real cowboy is to live in the Wild West, near the mountains,to have a ranch and to have cattle's and horses.
2. Did you travel alone or with your family/friends (how many) ?
I traveled to Montana with my family ,my parents and my older brother.Like I said my dad’s dream was to be areal cowboy so he gathered the informations about the ranch, about the whole trip and one day at dinner he said to us that we will go to a ranch to see the real cowboys,of course at the beginning me and my brother didn’t liked the idea but now I don’t regret that I went there.
3. How much time did you spend finding out information about this location and what resources did you use to do it (online sites/traveling agencies/friends).
Sincerely I don’t know how much time my dad spend to gather the informations, but I think that it took him some time to plan his perfect vacation. I think that John Wayne’s movies was his inspiration ,and afterwards he appealed to online sites. I also think my dad’s friends had a big impact to his decision, because they also live in their dream, that they are cowboys, they dress like ones.
4. Can you tell us the thing you like most in this place?
There were a lot of things that I liked at the ranch, especially the days when we worked from early in the morning, when we ride all day enjoying the sights of the mountains and the nights passed around the camp fire with all the natives of the ranch.
5. What were the bad/ugly sides of your vacation?
The bad side of the vacation, because it is only one bad side, and that is in my opinion that we don’t live in Great Falls,Montana, and when our vacation ended we had to return home,to big buildings and big city’s stress.
6. How was your room (did you had everything you need).
I shared my room with my brother,so it wasn’t so bad because I am used to this.We had a big room and we had comfort, although I thought there isn’t T.V. or internet, because I thought that it will be very boring, but in fact when we arrived there I wasn’t so interested with the T.V.My only preoccupation was to ride ,because they gave me a horse during mi staying at the ranch.
7. Did you take a digital camera (what model), a laptop or any other gadgets with you? (name of the gadget).
When I was 10 I did not have my own digital camera, but I remember that my parents bought a video recorder, because every year at the end of the summer we all see the movies that my dad recorded at the ranch.
8. How were the people there (the reception and people you meet)
The people there are very warm,I remember that they explained us everything us everything we needed to know from milking the cows to riding the horses like real cowboys. They were very patients with all of us.
9. Did you make any new friends (are you still keeping in touch).
Yes,I made friends there. Our hosts had children, one girl and two boys, and the girl was older than me with few years. We are very close,we keep I touch since I left from Great Falls. In some vacation she comes to me in Chicago and sometimes we all return to Montana.
10. How did you spend your time? Did you participate in any recreational activities?
We spend our time there combining work with fun. I was little but I worked also, making or helping to easy things. At night we stayed around the camp fire and we ate meringues and told stories. It was the vacation if my life.
11. What places did you visited? (Museums, resorts, sport facilities)
What we visited almost every day was the sights, rivers and mountains, horses running on the hills. These are some images that are indescribable. Sundays when we had more time we all went to town and visited Russell Museum Complex.the world’s most complete collection of Charles M. Russell’s origial art and personal objects.
12. What other vacation location would you recommend to the public?
Sincerely I don’t know what places to recommend to public. Everybody knows that the ancient American was a cowboy so if you wanna know a real American you must see the cowboy’s side of his. So I recommend to everybody to visit the Wild West,Colorado and Montana.
