1. What was your favorite vacation location and how did you heard about it?
I think that my favorite vacation location in Bucharest, the capital city , industrial and commercial center of Romania. I’ve heard of this location from a documentary from T.V. and from newspapers. I heard that Bucharest is the center of the Romanian mass-media, culture and arts. Its eclectic architecture is a mix of historical, interbellum, communist-era , and modern. And that in the period between the two World Wars, the city’s elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite gave Bucharest the nickname of the ,,Paris of the East’’ or ,,Little Paris’’. And although much of the historic center was damaged or destroyed by war, earthquakes, much survived, and in the recent years the city is constantly an economic and cultural boom. And I was very curious about the similitude of Bucharest with Paris one of my favorite cities in this world so I decided to plan a vacation where I can relax and visit any places.
2. Did you travel alone or with your family/friends (how many) ?
I traveled with a friend who was there before me and who said to me that it was so exciting to go in this location and that he would like to accompany me, and I was simply amazed because everyone I asked of this location they knew of it, I think I was the last one who did not know about this city. And I has happy because I had the perfect guide because he knew the streets and the most important places that we should visit.
3. How much time did you spend finding out information about this location and what resources did you use to do it (online sites/traveling agencies/friends).
Like I said I discovered this location from a documentary, and I searched on the internet and the extra informations were given to me by my friend who accompanied me in this vacation. So I think that it took only 3 days , including the walk that I took to the travel agency to make the flight and the reservations .
4. Can you tell us the thing you like most in this place?
I liked most but most the architecture, because my dream was to be an architect but my parents wanted me to continue the tradition that of teaching ,so I was simply amazed by its architecture, the museums and the forever green parks .
5. What were the bad/ugly sides of your vacation?
The bad side of this vacation was definitely that I had problems with my camera, I could not do so many pictures as much as I wanted because I had lost it. So that was my bad luck in this vacation so I can not complain of anything.
6. How was your room (did you had everything you need).
The room in which I stayed was very big, a little expensive , in my opinion because at its size there could stay at least 3 persons, but it was ok. But the view was perfect, I could see the Floreasca Lake, so this image compensate the cost of the room.
7. Did you take a digital camera (what model), a laptop or any other gadgets with you? (name of the gadget).
I took with me my digital camera, a Sony which at the end I lost so I could not make photos and to capture all the beauties of the mixed architecture of Bucharest.
8. How were the people there (the reception and people you meet)
The people there were very nice , they offered me anything that I needed. If I asked them about a place that we did not know, they immediately had us informed about it even in some cases it was very hard for us to understand their French .
9. Did you make any new friends (are you still keeping in touch).
Unfortunately I did not made any friends there, but I saw a lot of good lucking guys on the streets, and I promised to myself that I will return in an another vacation and this time to stay longer.
10. How did you spend your time? Did you participate in any recreational activities?
I spend most of my time visiting and making pictures to the buildings, of course that was when I still had my digital camera. And I must say with regret that I did not participate to any recreational activity, I wanted but our money finished so fast .
11. What places did you visited? (Museums, resorts, sport facilities)
I visited the Floreasca Lake which was nearby of my hotel. The Village Musem, the Botanical Garden, the big Palace of the Parliament, a building that can be seen from the moon after the Pentagon , the Triumphal Arch which is similar with the one from Paris, the Romanian Athaeneum , the National Museum of Art, the Romanian National Opera and a lot more and magnificent buildings.
12. What other vacation location would you recommend to the public?
I would like to recommend to visit all Romania and f course France because it is also full of historic monuments
