One of the favourite tourist destinations in Hawaii is Oahu. Oahu has so many things besides the wonderful beaches to offer including the USS Arizona Memorial an incredible memorial dedicated to all of those who died at the Japanese attack at the Pearl Harbour, the Polynesian Cultural Centre where you and your family can have lots of fun while learning many things about the Hawaiian culture. The Diamond Head is a gigantic crater offering an extraordinary view of Honolulu and the Hanauma Bay which is the perfect place for swimming and snorkelling.

12. Idaho - Boise, Idaho, the Snakes River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area
The Snake River Birds of Prey Conservation Area is one of the most visited tourist destination in Idaho; situated in the southwest part of the county the NCA was established in 1993. The idea was to help shield an exclusive environment home for largest concentration of birds of prey in the world. This unique Area is one of the fewest if not the only place in the world where you can still see the golden eagle. Visiting this place would be a wonderful experience for everyone not just the ecologists or nature lovers. Besides the golden eagle you can still see falcons, hawks, owl and many others.

13. Montana - Glacier National Park
Montana is nicknamed “The Treasure State” and is characterized by the numerous mountain chains, stunning national parks and wide open spaces with a relative low population density. Tourists and outdoor enthusiasts are attracted to this state by some of the most impressive sceneries in the United States. Glacier National Park gets its name from the mountains that were carved to the present shape by immense glaciers and is one of the most visited sites in the US. Spreading over more than four thousand square kilometres it contains more than one hundred lakes and an overwhelming number of fauna and flora species. Dense forests, waterfalls and alpine tundra make this region a real heaven for nature buffs.

14. Illinois - Millennium Park
Chicago is the biggest city in Illinois and the Millennium Park is certainly nothing less. The park is located in the heart of downtown Chicago and offers a wide range of attractions from a theatre to different parks, boardwalk, amusement parks, opera house, docksides and a pier.

The park is opened daily from 6am to 11pm and the entrance is free. The Millennium Park project is not complete yet but when it will be done it will be larger than the Central park in New York thus becoming the nation’s largest urban park.

15. Indiana - Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall of Fame Museum
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hall of Fame Museum is one of the best museums dedicated to automobiles and racing, located north of downtown Indianapolis. In 1987 the museum was awarded the title: National Historic Landmark. The museum is actually on the grounds of the famous speedway and is certainly a must see while in Indiana. About one third of the total number of tourist per year, come in May when the 500 miles race takes place. Here are a few of the museums attractions: The Louis Chevrolet Memorial, The Marmon Wasp, the Four Two Times Winning cars and many others.

16. Nebraska - Scotts Bluff National Monument
Nebraska or the “Great Plains” state gets its name from the Platte River that flows through it. Scotts Bluff National Monument is one of the most prominent landmarks in the state of Nebraska. The bluffs rising several hundred feet above the ground make a stunning impression over the flat surroundings. A large number of visitors come each year to for the spectacular views over iconic symbols like Eagle Rock and Mitchell Pass.

17. Iowa - Amana Colonies
The Amana Colonies where founded after the civil war by a religious group called The Community of true inspiration. The colonies stretch upon approximately 20 thousand miles. Nowadays this utopian society is a National Historic Landmark consisting of 7 villages that still retain much of their original German flavor. Amana is biggest village in the colony and has many to offer. Most of the shops, restaurants and accommodations are in this village. Visiting Amana would be a relaxing wonderful experience.

18. Nevada - Hoover Dam
Nevada is known for Las Vegas city, a Mecca of gambling and entertainment. There are also other sites that are worth a visit. One of the most visited tourist attractions lies less than an hour away from Las Vegas. Hoover Dam was one of the first factors that caused the population increase in the area and is now one of the symbols of the American people. Bordering the states of Nevada and Arizona, the amazing construction stands more than seven hundred feet high. Considered to be a wonder of the modern world meanwhile a great civil engineering achievement, the structure can be visited in organized tours with any vehicle from bicycles to helicopter rides set up by local companies.

19. Kansas - Sedgwick County Zoo
The Sedgwick County Zoo is the number one family attraction in Kansas. Due to its position you can visit all the exhibits at the zoo without lot of backtracking. You can watch to zookeepers while they feed the animals or you can feed them yourself with food different machines. The Sedgwick zoo has a kids area where your children can come close to animals from Asia, Africa and America. The zoo is dived in many areas with animals from different parts of the world and the settings are absolutely extraordinary. Very often there are exhibits where animals walk free through different parts of the zoo so you can get very close to them.

20. New Hampshire - Mount Washington Cog Railway
This state located in the north east part of the country is known for the harsh winters with temperatures that drop much below zero, for the concise and independent inhabitants and for the striking beauty of the land. One of the most interesting things available when visiting New Hampshire is taking a tour on the Mount Washington Cog Railway also known as the cog. The three hour trip on what was once a marvel of engineering takes you to the highest peak of this part of the United States and through some breath taking views. Along the impressive scenery the moving museum will also provide you with some thrills along the way.
